MPOGCF dengan kerjasama Fakulti Perhutanan dan Alam Sekitar, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) menganjurkan Kursus Asas Perhutanan bertempat di Sultan Idris Shah Forestry Education Center (SISFEC), Hutan Simpan Ayer Hitam (HSAH) Puchong pada 6 hingga 8 Februari lalu.
Kursus tiga hari ini bertujuan memberi pendedahan kepada kakitangan MPOGCF dalam bidang perhutanan serta meningkatkan kefahaman mengenai sistem pengurusan hutan di Malaysia seprti asas silvikultur, kelestarian sumber, pemulihan habitat dan eksplorasi rimba.
Peserta turut mempelajari teori dan praktikal dalam memahami ekologi hutan serta peranan dalam aktiviti pemantauan dan projek penghutanan semula.
Kursus disertai Pengurus Besar MPOGCF, Hairulazim Mahmud, Pengurus Pemuliharaan dan Kemampanan, Shahdan Kassim dan Pengurus Kewangan dan Pentadbiran, Ismail Harun.
Seramai lima tenaga pengajar dari Fakulti Perhutanan dan Alam Sekitar UPM berkongsi ilmu sepanjang kursus ini, diketuai Dr. Johar Mohamed, Prof. Dr. Hazandy Abdul Hamid, Dr. Mohd Aswad Ramlan, Dr. Mohamad Nazrin Abdul Malik dan Dr. Jamhuri Jamaluddin.

MPOGCF, in collaboration with the Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organized the Introductory Forestry Course at the Sultan Idris Shah Forestry Education Center (SISFEC), Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve (HSAH) Puchong, from February 6 to 8.
This three-day course aimed to provide exposure to MPOGCF staffs in the field of forestry and enhance their understanding of forest management systems in Malaysia, including the basics of silviculture, resource sustainability, habitat restoration, and jungle exploration.
Participants also gained both theoretical and practical knowledge in understanding forest ecology and their roles in monitoring activities and reforestation projects.
The course was attended by MPOGCF General Manager Hairulazim Mahmud, Conservation and Sustainability Manager Shahdan Kassim, and Finance and Administration Manager Ismail Harun.
